Dr. Elson S. Floyd's vision for the Cultural Center was for it to serve as an emblem of WSU's dedication to diversity as a land-grant institution and to honor the land and the people of the land on which WSU is built.
In that vision, the Cultural Center is designed to be a culturally responsive, educative space for communities to come together to learn and celebrate diversity and cultures. The overarching theme of the center is intersectionality and is a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone to visit and utilize.
A truly unique feature on WSU's campus, the Cultural Center has quickly become the home for numerous group meetings, cultural events, lectures, and conferences, particularly the student-led multicultural conferences VIBES, CASHE, and SHAPING. Registered student organizations are able to use the facility for free or at a significantly reduced rate, depending on the nature of the event.
Your gift, no matter the size, will have an immediate impact on the Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center's capacity to continue Dr. Floyd's vision of making WSU a welcoming home for all.
